– we insist on selecting candidates who have the right commitment and potential.

Not everyone can be an entrepreneur so we look for the right ingredients.

Raizcorp entrepreneurs typically have a clear vision and are fully committed to the challenges it presents. They are people who can take the initiative and who love planning and executing a project. They are not afraid of risk, they take responsibility for their actions, they are open to learning and they are hungry for personal and professional growth.

Our assessment and selection process is developed in conjunction with both performance and clinical psychologists and we look primarily at the potential and aptitude of each individual. Level of education is less relevant; neither do we give much weight to business plans and CVs. Raizcorp believes in backing the jockey, not the horse.

Selection

Raizcorp’s selection process is made up of eight stages. Some of these stages have a built-in self--selection process to determine the commitment of the beneficiaries. The process begins with an online expression of interest which leads to a first interview with a Raizcorp Entrepreneurial Scout.

Thereafter, our applicants have to participate in an entrepreneurial assessment, complete audit and due diligence documents, attend a further interview and present their business to our final review panel. Each Raizcorp Enterprise Development programme has its own strict minimum criteria.

Categorising

Beneficiaries move through a series of categories and they are required to fulfill the criteria of each category before they may be admitted to the next. They are expected to remain in each category for its required duration (e.g. 3-6 months or 12 months) before they can move on to the next level. Each category focuses on the attainment of the business fundamentals requisite for this stage in the lifecycle of the business. In this way, Raizcorp ensures that the business builds the solid foundations it will need for growth and prosperity.

"Raizcorp is a positive thing for any entrepreneur to do. I've compared it to many other offerings and keep finding what the others have, is a watered-down version of what Raizcorp is offering!" - Melanie Brummer, Slipstream
